I am writing to let you know that effective immediately, masking and social distancing is required of all patients and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, while at any New West Physicians facility.
Our caregivers and staff also will be required to wear masks and social distance.
This change is necessary because the New West Physicians service areas have fallen into the “substantial” category of COVID-19 transmission. The Delta variant has proven to be more contagious and virulent than we had hoped, and the number of new cases has increased dramatically in the last two weeks.
This requirement is in keeping with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), which released revised guidelines on July 27 stating that in addition to those who are not vaccinated for COVID-19, those who are fully vaccinated and who are in an area of substantial or high transmission should wear a mask indoors for maximum protection from the Delta variant and to prevent possibly spreading it to others.
We strongly encourage those 12 years and older to get vaccinated. Thank you for continuing to entrust your care with New West Physicians. Please contact your office with any questions.
