Clinical Studies

At New West Physicians, we have been conducting clinical research studies for our patients since 1997. Our research clinic is located in Golden and is directed by our Executive Director of Clinical Research, Dr. Matthew Lewis, M.D.. Dr. Lewis works with several pharmaceutical companies and selectively chooses clinical studies that he feels will be the best for our patients while still advancing medical research for new medicines. All studies are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and conducted by our experienced and caring research team. Hyper Lipidemia with Cardiovascular Disease	Approximately 5-year study At least 40 years of age High Cholesterol Prior Stroke, MI, or PAD
Weight Loss with Cardiovascular Disease (CVD)	Approximately 4-year study At least 40 years of age Established CVD
Weight Loss with Type 2 Diabetes	Approximately 1.5-year study At least 18 years of age A1c 7.0-10.0% BMI of 30 or more
