Denver was very cold and had a thick layer of ice on the ground that made walking somewhat treacherous. Yet a few weeks ago, I made a winter trip to Denver with enthusiasm and joy, visiting a winner of AMGA Foundation’s Acclaim Award. The folks from New West Physicians greeted Don Fisher, AMGA’s CEO, and me with a warm welcome as we celebrated their achievements with hundreds of their physicians, clinicians, staff, administrators, and community members who have made the organization a model of exceptional healthcare delivery.
