New West Physicians was one of five organizations that exceeded the national goal to improve care for 1 million people with Type 2 diabetes. Our organization demonstrated significant engagement with the T2G campaign and high performance on the campaign measures throughout the past five years resulting in improved health of patients with diabetes.

For five consecutive years (2016-2020), New West Physicians has achieved the highest possible “elite” ranking in the American Physician Group’s annual Standards of Excellence™ survey. The annual survey evaluates physician groups and networks based upon how well-equipped and organized they are to deliver a high-quality patient experience, coordinate care and provide for population health programs, while at the same time improving the overall affordability of health services.
Million Hearts
New West Physicians was selected as one of the 2017 Million Hearts® Hypertension Control Champions by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Million Hearts is a national initiative to prevent 1 million heart attacks and strokes in five years. The award recognizes the Champions who implemented patient care strategies to achieve blood pressure control rates of at least 70% or greater for their adult patients by using a variety of approaches. New West Physicians’ hypertension control rate is 83%.

In 2013, New West Physicians was named Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Best Practice of the Year Award by the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians Foundation.
Peak Performers Award
The Peak Performers Awards recognize clinical excellence among hospitalists, physician subspecialists, nurses, pharmacists, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Several of our Hospitalists have been recognized with this award.
Better Business Bureau
New West Physicians has been Accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) since 2004 and has an A+ Rating. BBB has determined that New West Physicians meets BBB accreditation standards, which include a commitment to make a good faith effort to resolve any consumer complaints. BBB Accredited Businesses pay a fee for accreditation review/monitoring and for support of BBB services to the public.
5280 Top Docs
Since 2005, several doctors from New West Physicians have been recognized by The Denver Magazine 5280 as Top Docs in the categories of Internal Medicine and Family Practice Medicine.
American Hospital Association
In 2011, the American Hospital Association commissioned a national study on Accountable Care and chose four delivery systems representing different models of care. New West Physicians was chosen as the primary care model for that study.
